What about 100% electric? You can actually build your own electric car kit much cheaper. There are no emmisions, and you can plug in every evening to recharge.

Rahul,

I would have to agree, the 2005 model is a very standard looking car but delivers excellent fuel economy. I have a friend who has the Prius 2006 model and he hates the freeway driving as it just does not preform, and is very light on the steering. One down side to the Honda is the CVT gearbox, Honda just removed and replaced mine, (2005 Hybrid) under warranty. It seems Honda are still having major problems with the CVT box.

Just some more info for you to digest. :O)

Sorry Ayman. The website http://oldwww.jrobin.org/api/ has some code snippets on performing typical tasks which are enough for getting up and running, but as you’ve probably already discovered, the Javadoc link gives a “Page Not Found”.

It might be worth getting in touch with the authors?

Hi Colin

The $200 was for supply and installation. Installation is straightforward (a simple clip on the outside of the wire going into your meter box), but regulations require that it be done by an electrician.

So, 5 minutes to clip the transmitter in place, 5 minutes to configure the receiver unit, and 5 minutes to take the owner through it all.

Thanks for the interesting post! There seems to be growing momentum for these types of devices. Was the $200 you said for the cost of the device and the installation? How long did the set up and installation process take?
